Day 20: Breaking a Thousand

Standard

Where: Somewhere down the road from Bodø to Halsa, Helgelandskysten
Distance: 90.4 km
Time on bike: 5 hr 33 min
Total distance: 1065 km

In spite of the constant rain/drizzle/down pour, we broke a milestone today. More than one thousand kilometers on our bikes on this trip. Not bad!

Not too much to be said about the day. It was wet, cold and hilly. We spent the better part of an hour getting heated up at a little grocery store. They served up free coffee and had a little table and chairs nicely located by the fruits and vegetables. After two cups of coffee, we still were not ready to get back outside, so we bought a pack of the Norwegian delicacy risengrynsgrøt (similar to rice porridge) and heated it up in the microwave oven of this very resourceful store.

And yes, I am still wearing my helmet…
