Where: Feda to Lindesnes, the southernmost point of Norway!
Distance: 105.0 km
Time on bike: 6 hr 25 min
Total distance: 2095 km
The day of the push-to-the-finish line has finally come and we were pumped to get ‘er done!
It was a fabulous day with sunshine and high temperatures – and more hills! Who knew this area was so hilly!?
Southern Norway is a little summer paradise with beautiful coastal scenes, cabins, boats, nice weather and many visitors.
Much happiness whenever a Statoil made an appearance! Free coffee!!
It was getting pretty late as we finally made our last turn down towards Lindesnes! Many, many days of biking was about to come to an end! A fairytale of traveling through my own country was about the see its grand finale. Sweat and tears were competing for my attention as we worked our ways up and down the last hills out to the windy point. Suddenly, we could see the tip of the lighthouse and before we had time to think, we were there! A guy greeted us with a banner and we were confused, trying to figure out whether we knew him. As it turned out, we did not! He was waiting for his girlfriend and another friend who had done the same trip! So, we borrowed the flag and asked him to snap a photo:
Too hard to push the bikes up to the real lighthouse, this will do! The veil is back on and marks the end of one heck of a honeymoon! (Though, we may still milk the honeymoon card for hotel upgrades.)
… and for that, we deserve a cookie!
… and some bubbly! Cheers!
